Abstract

This research aims to identify the impact of implementing Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations on the future of women’s sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by examining four main dimensions: financial and funding aspects, administrative and organizational aspects, technical and developmental aspects, and the challenges facing implementation. The research was conducted on an exploratory sample of (30) participants, including administrators, coaches, players, and officials in Saudi women’s sports clubs, and a main sample consisting of (141) participants distributed across individual and team sports. The research tools included a demographic data form for the participants and a structured questionnaire covering the study dimensions.

The findings revealed statistically significant differences in participants’ responses across the study dimensions, indicating that the regulations contribute to enhancing financial efficiency, strengthening administrative governance, and regulating player transfers more effectively. However, challenges related to weak technological infrastructure and limited private investment still hinder the optimal application of FFP. Furthermore, the results showed no statistically significant differences between participants’ responses according to the type of sport (individual vs. team), reflecting a general consensus that the regulations similarly affect various forms of women’s sports in the Kingdom
