Brief Biography:

Professor Hashem A. Kilani is currently the founder and President-Elect of the Arab Society for Biomechanics in Sports (ArabSBS), a pioneering organization dedicated to advancing biomechanics and sports sciences across the Arab world. A distinguished scholar in biomechanics, kinesiology, and human performance, he brings more than four decades of academic, research, and leadership experience spanning the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the United States.

He earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (1988), following an M.S. from Purdue University (1984) and a B.S. in Physical Education from Helwan University, Egypt (1974).

Professor Kilani has held prominent academic positions at the University of Jordan, United Arab Emirates University, and Sultan Qaboos University, alongside visiting appointments at Birzeit University, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and Nanjing University in China. At the University of Jordan, he served as Vice Dean for Quality Assurance, Chair of the Health & Recreation Department, and Chair of several university-level academic and accreditation committees. He was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher (Ranked 7th, University of Jordan, 2017) and received the Distinguished Researcher Award in 2020.

His scholarly contributions encompass biomechanics, human movement, physical activity and health, lifestyle epidemiology, motor performance, sports training, and educational quality assurance. He has supervised over 40 master’s theses and more than 16 Ph.D. dissertations, while evaluating numerous doctoral works internationally. His extensive publications include books, refereed journal articles, invited conference papers, and international proceedings. His most recent book, Exercise for Girls, was published in 2025 by Austin Macauley in London.

Beyond academia, Professor Kilani has played significant roles in applied sport and national development, serving as technical manager for the Jordan Athletics Federation, advisor for national physical activity initiatives, and consultant in obesity prevention, autism programs, and youth physical fitness standards across the Arab region.

His research excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Drassa Award for Best Sports Science Research (2015) and Best Lecturer in the Arab World (2017).

Professor Kilani continues to advance international research, curriculum development, and scientific leadership, with a strong commitment to biomechanics, sports performance, and public health through evidence-based practice and high-quality education.

Prof. Dr. Abdelnaser Abdelrahim Mohammed Qudumi

Professor Qudumi earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Jordan, graduating first in rank in both degrees, and obtained his PhD in Sport Sciences from the Romanian Academy of Physical Education and Sports (ANEFS). With more than three decades of academic and administrative experience, Professor Qudumi has successfully combined scientific excellence with university leadership and educational policy development. Professor Qudumi has held numerous senior leadership positions, most notably serving as President of Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho (2014–2018) and Vice President for Academic Affairs. At An-Najah National University, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center, and Head of the Department of Physical Education.

 At the national level, he played a pivotal role as Head of the National Team for Physical Education Curriculum Development in Palestine, and as a member of the Palestinian Higher Education Council, the Council for Innovation and Excellence (appointed by Presidential Decree), as well as national Quality Assurance and Accreditation bodies. Academically, Professor Qudumi is recognized as one of the leading scholars in his field. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific research papers in reputable international and regional journals and has supervised over 200 master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.

He has also contributed significantly to academic advancement by participating in the promotion of 57 faculty members to the ranks of Associate Professor and Full Professor, both locally and across the Arab world. In addition, Professor Qudumi has led and participated in more than 40 scientific conferences, serving as head of preparatory committees, chair or member of scientific committees, keynote speaker, presenter, researcher, and has headed several official academic delegations.

His editorial contributions include serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Istiqlal University Journal for Research and Studies and as a member of the editorial boards of indexed academic journals, including the An-Najah Research Journal for Humanities (Scopus-indexed).In recognition of his outstanding academic and scientific contributions, Professor Qudumi has received several prestigious national and Arab awards, most notably the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists, the Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Award for Scientific Research in Sports Management at the Arab World level, and the Certificate and Medal of Scientific Excellence.

Brief Biography:

Professor Alain Steve Comtois, PhD, is a Full Professor and Director of the Department of Kinesiology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). He is also a researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal (CRIR), affiliated with the Institut universitaire sur la réadaptation en déficience physique de Montréal (IURDPM), within the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.

 

Professor Comtois completed his undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at Concordia University in 1982, followed by a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at McGill University in 1984, with direct progression to doctoral studies. He earned his PhD in exercise physiology from McGill University in 1991. He subsequently completed postdoctoral training in exercise physiology and pharmacology at the University of Ottawa in 1994, and in exercise physiology at the University of Leicester (United Kingdom) in 1995.

 

His research interests focus on the evaluation of human exercise physiology, biomotor capacity, and traumatic brain injury. Professor Comtois has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, with contributions addressing body composition and strength, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, aquatic exercise interventions, respiratory physiology, and cardiovascular risk factors in clinical populations.

  • Member: Prof. Dr. RODION RUDENKO

Brief Biography:

Professor Rudenko received his PhD in Sports and Humanity from Shanghai Sports University in 2015. He earned his basic education BD in Kinesiology (2001) and MD in Sports Management (2010) from the National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health in St. Petersburg.

His research interests are based on sports management and marketing, but also includes sports compliance and methodological support for the athletes' training process.

Being one of the leading teachers of the Federal State Institute of Physical Culture in St. Petersburg, he was the initiator and curator of distance learning programs for sports referees and the methodology for assessing the quality of professional activity of sports professionals, was a leading specialist at the National Research Center for Physical Training and Sports, developing methodological foundations for training sports reserves.

Having an expert level, he also regularly served as the editor-in-chief of the collection of scientific conferences and was a member of the jury of national competitions of scientific papers by researchers in the field of physical culture and sports. 

Practical experience in sports management is represented by cooperation with such major international projects as the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, International Yoga Day in China and the SVYASA University Yoga Club network, as well as cooperation with national sports federations and sports reserve training centers. 

His academic experience is represented by his duties as an associate professor and professor in leading educational institutions at the federal level, not only in Russia, but also abroad. The last few years have been associated with working as a visiting professor in a joint American-Chinese academic project based on cooperation between Rockford University (USA) and Nanjing Sports Institute (PRC).


 

  • Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr. Imad Saleh Abdelhaq

Brief Biography:

Prof. Imad Saleh Abdelhaq graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism in Moscow in 1989. He returned to his homeland in 1996 and worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Preparation at An-Najah National University.

 In 2001, he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in Sports Training Theories, and in 2008 he attained the rank of Full Professor (Professor) in Sports Training Theories. He has supervised and examined more than 150 Master’s and PhD theses in Sports Sciences and held several administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Physical Education (2014–2019), Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education (2009–2012), and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Sports Sciences (2021–2025).

Prof. Abdul Haq has published more than seventy-five research papers in local, Arab, and international scientific journals and participated in numerous sports conferences regionally and internationally. He also served on several committees, including research and scientific committees, editorial boards, promotion committees, the Palestinian Sports Arbitration Court, and the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Football Association.

 


 

 

Brief Biography:

Professor Ahmed Boussakra is an Algerian university professor and researcher at the University of M’sila, specializing in sports management and administration, sports governance, and strategic planning. He obtained his Baccalaureate in Mathematics in 1990, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Algiers in 1994, a Master’s degree in Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports in 2002, and a Ph.D. in the same field in 2008 from the University of Algiers, culminating in the University Accreditation (Habilitation) in 2009.

His precise specialization lies in sports management and administration, with scholarly publications in specialized journals addressing strategic planning, sports governance, and entrepreneurship and startups in the sports sector. He has received several scientific and academic excellence awards, including the Scientific Excellence Award for Arab Researchers (Category A) in Sports Sciences in 2018 from the Arab Scientific Society of Sports Sciences, the ranking of second best institute/faculty in the Arab world in 2017 by the Strategic Studies Center for Sports Sciences (Sweden), the Arab Scientific Excellence Award as Best Dean of a Faculty of Physical Education in the Arab World in 2016 from the Scientific Academy for Research and Training in London, and the Sportsmanship Award in 2015 from LIGU SPORT – France.

 In addition, he has served as an expert for the Algerian University Sports Federation, representing the Minister of Youth and Sports since 2010, and has contributed to national-level initiatives related to sports organization, management, and institutional development.

Professor of Artistic Gymnastics Training in the Department of Theories and Applications of Exercises and Artistic Gymnastics, and formerly Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Girls, Helwan University, from April 2022 to the present.

Full-time Lecturer with the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Supervision and Teaching at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, University of Jordan, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, from October 3, 2003, to 2011.

Brief Biography:

Professor Dr. Soh Kim Geok, also known as Professor Jade, is a distinguished academic at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She has been working with UPM as a tutor since 1996 and has been lecturing for almost 30 years. As a committed researcher and educator specialising in Exercise Science and Health, she has led over 47 research projects locally and internationally. Professor Jade has published over 200 CIJ articles, 50% of which appear in Q1- and Q2-indexed journals.

Her contributions to postgraduate education are notable, as she has supervised and graduated more than 40 Ph.D. and 13 M.Sc. students as the main supervisor. She received multiple Certificates of Appreciation for graduating students on time (15 GOT) from UPM’s School of Graduate Studies.

Three of her students were awarded UPM Best Student in Social Science in 2022, 2024, and 2025. Professor Jade has held esteemed positions as a visiting scholar at Curtin University (Australia) and as a visiting professor at several universities across Asia, including Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Henan University, Ningxia Normal University, Hubei University of Automotive Technology (China), Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, and Western University/Nation University (Thailand).
