This research aims to design a proposed specialized training program and investigate Its effect on sensorimotor abilities (visual perception, time perception, distance perception, and balance perception) among students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Al-Zawiya. It also aims to assess Its impact on the skill performance level of the front handspring roll and the backward roll to handstand on the floor exercise apparatus in artistic gymnastics.
The researchers used the experimental method with a one-group design employing pre- and post-measurements. The program was applied to a randomly selected sample of second-year students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Al-Zawiya during the academic year 2024–2025. The sample consisted of six (6) students.
The most important findings showed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in favor of the post-test in the sensorimotor abilities and physical capacities under study. This Indicates that the proposed specialized training program led to improvements in sensorimotor and physical abilities, whichh in turn contributed to enhancing the performance level of the front handspring roll and the backward roll to handstand on the floor exercise among second-year students at the University of Al-Zawiya.
