In light of the challenges facing Libyan sports in general, there is a growing need to review and develop academic curricula to keep pace with global developments in this field. Therefore, this research aims to shed light on the reality of the academic program at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Misurata University, seeking to determine its effectiveness in preparing academic cadres capable of effectively contributing to the development of Olympic champions. Despite Libya's youthful energy and athletic talent, Libyan representation in the Olympic Games remains limited, which raises questions about the readiness of the national academic cadre overseeing the preparation of Olympic champions. According to data from the Libyan Olympic Committee (2020), the number of Libyan Olympic participations from 1964 to 2020 did not exceed 13 Games, with a limited number of athletes, not exceeding an average of only 5 athletes per Games. Libya has not won a single Olympic medal to date, while symbolic participation has been achieved without any qualitative results. The importance of this research is highlighted by highlighting the effectiveness of academic programs in preparing qualified sports cadres to create Olympic champions. It contributes to evaluating the reality of sports education in faculties of physical education in Libya, especially Misrata University. It highlights the role of academic cadres in supporting the sports movement and achieving international success. The researcher concluded that the skills and scientific knowledge intended to be imparted to students are not at the required level that would help prepare academic cadres capable of creating Olympic champions. The course instructor does not provide students with clear educational and training programs that include the objectives, content, and modern scientific references related to the development of Olympic champions. The college's curriculum objectives are based on the Ministry of Education's objectives regarding university education.
