Abstract

Academic and administrative problems facing faculty members at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Zawia. The research aims to identify the academic and administrative problems facing faculty members at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Zawia. The researchers used a descriptive survey approach due to its suitability for the nature of this research. The research sample was selected from (39) faculty members at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Zawia for the academic year (2024-2025), including (31) members for the primary study and (8) members for the exploratory study. The most important results were the presence of clear organizational and administrative problems, most notably the lack of motivation, weak technical support, accumulating academic burdens, and a decline in educational values. Student achievement is a worrying indicator that touches on the core of the educational process and calls for a restructuring of the philosophy of education and assessment. Administrative problems reflect weaknesses in the institutional structure. There are some shortcomings in the management of the educational process, challenges related to incentives and motivation among students and faculty members, and weak standards of fairness and transparency within the institution. This could damage the reputation of the faculty and weaken the prestige of the educational process. The results show that faculty members suffer from a lack of the basic components of academic work, both at the professional and administrative levels.
