Abstract

The study aims to demonstrate the impact of smartphone use and its impact on improving the performance of employees in Iraqi youth and sports directorates in light of digital transformation policies. The researcher used a descriptive survey approach, due to its suitability for the nature of the research. A deliberate sample of (117) individuals was selected from employees in administrations and departments and their assistants in senior, middle, and executive management. The researcher designed a questionnaire for each of (senior management - middle management - executive management) as a primary tool for data collection. The aim was to identify the extent to which Iraqi youth and sports directorates use smartphones to improve employee performance. The study revealed that employees in the youth and sports directorates have a general tendency to use mobile phones to complete their work, given their ease of use at any time and place. Mobile phones are constantly present with employees, allowing them to search for information using mobile phones as a flexible tool that allows for use anywhere, anytime, without interruption. Difficulties in dealing with this technology, in addition to being a means to increase their learning to accomplish administrative tasks independently and thus their self-confidence, on the other hand, it takes into account individual differences and brings employees to the required level of mastery. This reinforces the fact that using mobile phones at work develops employees' cognitive skills and improves their job performance. Therefore, the researcher recommends conducting further studies to explore smartphone applications for completing administrative tasks. Furthermore, the arrival of the era of communications and information, and even the electronics revolution we are currently experiencing, requires community mobilization and the infrastructure to understand all related concepts.
