Abstract

The research included the introduction, its importance, and the problem that was embodied in the fact that most basketball players under (16) years old suffer from weakness in the performance of the defensive skill, as well as weakness and neglect of endurance of agility.

The most important goal of the research was to prepare special exercises using training tools to develop agility and defensive foot movement for basketball players under (16) years old.

As for the research methodology, the researcher followed the experimental method with a design of (two equivalent groups) to suit the nature of the research. This research was conducted on a sample selected randomly consisting of (12) players under (16) years old in the Euphrates Sports Club team in Dhi Qar Governorate (Souq Al-Shuyukh). The researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which are:

1-There is a development in both agility and defensive foot movement for basketball players under (16) years old (experimental group and control group).

2- Through what the research results showed, there is a clear and real effect of special exercises using training tools in the development of both agility and defensive foot movement for basketball players under (16) years old.
