A comparative study of some physical characteristics between different playing positions in handball

Abstract

It is known that integration in defense and attack and the ability to achieve a high level of performance and the ability to play well and master the arts of playing methods are an important requirement in handball. The success of any team and its progress depend on their availability, but the question remains on the availability of which of the physical qualities more than others. This success depends, so the choice fell on two important physical qualities in the game, which are the strength distinguished by speed and motor speed. The importance of the research comes in discovering which of the different playing positions in handball possesses one of them that shows the two qualities more than others. Therefore, the problem of the research lies in determining which of the different playing positions in handball needs two qualities, strength distinguished by speed and motor speed more than others. The goals were to identify the level of strength distinguished by speed among the players of the Al Ain University handball team, and to identify the level of motor speed among the Al Ain University handball team, and to identify The differences between the different playing positions in handball in the characteristic of strength characterized by speed and on the differences between the different playing positions in the characteristic of motor speed among handball players at Al Ain University, the researcher used the descriptive approach using the survey method to suit the nature of the problem. This approach aims to collect data and try to choose hypotheses and answer the questions. The research sample was chosen intentionally and represented the players of the handball team for the players  , numbering (15) players out of (20) players who participated in the qualifiers. Thus, the sample constituted a percentage of (75%) of the original total. One of the most important conclusions is that the handball players at Al Ain University have good motor speed ranging between (3.48 - 3.59 / sec).
