The importance of the research lies in the fact that variable resistance exercises help the player to perform movements under variable and different conditions, so that the player is able to confront the various conditions and situations that he is exposed to during the match halves and in a good way, in addition to developing the accuracy of the smash serve.
As for the problem of the research, and through the researcher's observation of the training of some volleyball teams in Thi Qar Governorate, he noticed the lack of interest in modern training methods, especially variable resistance exercises.
The objectives of the research were to prepare variable resistance exercises to develop the accuracy of the smash serve in volleyball. , and to identify the statistical differences between the pre- and post-tests of the control and experimental groups for the accuracy of the smash serve in volleyball.
The researcher used the experimental method in the style of two equivalent groups (experimental and control), and the research sample was the players of the specialized center for volleyball in Shatrah district, numbering (14) players. The application of the exercises for variable resistance took (12) weeks at a rate of (3 units) per week. As for the most important conclusions, they are that the variable resistance exercises had a great effect in developing the accuracy of the smash serve in the experimental group, since these exercises work to develop explosive power, the power characterized by speed
