Achievement motivation and its relationship to assertive behavior and skill performance for handball players

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to find out:

1- Achievement motive and assertive behavior among handball players at the University of Kufa.

2- The skill performance of (handling and receiving) and (shooting) among handball players at the University of Kufa.

3- Correlational relationship between achievement motivation and assertive behavior (handling and receiving) and (shooting) among handball players at the University of Kufa.

 

        The current research community was identified with handball players in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kufa, and the sample consisted of (12) players out of (17) players, with a rate of (70.59 percent). The researchers used the descriptive approach in both survey and correlational methods. After selecting the tools, standards and tests necessary to conduct the research and applying them, the following conclusions were reached:

 

1- The handball players at the University of Kufa are characterized by high achievement and assertive behavior.

2- The handball players at the University of Kufa are distinguished by their good performance of (handling and receiving) and (shooting) skills.

3- There is a real correlation between the achievement motivation and the assertive behavior of handball players at the University of Kufa.

4- There is a real correlation relationship between the achievement motivation and performance of (handling and receiving) and (shooting) skills of handball players at the University of Kufa.

 

        Then the researchers recommended several recommendations to solve his research problem.
