Abstract

The game of boxing includes difficult skills that require various coordination, such as the movement of the arms, legs, torso, and head. Through informing the researchers and observing the lectures of the boxing subject at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, and after investigating and inquiring with the subject teachers, they found that the students’ estimates for three consecutive years fluctuated, although There is difficulty in learning the skill of the side and upward punch, due to students failing to achieve good results due to fear of injury or not using assistive means or techniques and different teaching methods to help learners acquire information and skills. Therefore, the researchers in the current study decided to use the Adelson model for enrichment activities and skill performance. For the side and upward punches for students, the research aimed to prepare enrichment activities in the cognitive achievement and skill performance of the side and upward punches in boxing for students, as well as to identify the effect of the Adelson model using enrichment activities on the cognitive achievement and skill performance of the side and upward punches in boxing for students.

The researchers used the experimental approach in the manner of two equal groups (an experimental group and a control group), where the research sample was represented by (81) students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, the second stage. The curriculum included (8) educational units, with one educational unit per week for each. A group, and the most important conclusions are:

The experimental group that practiced the Adelson model and enrichment activities showed clear superiority over the control group in learning the skillful performance of side and upward punches and their defenses for students.
