This study aimed to identify the effect of learning the handball course (1) on some coordination abilities among the Faculty of Sports Sciences students, as well as the differences in this effect according to the gender variable. To achieve this, the researcher used the experimental approach on a sample consisted (43) female and (39) male who registered for the handball course (1) in the academic year 2021/2022. The coordination abilities (Orientation, Balance, Rhythm, Reaction, the ability of motor coupling and adaptation to changing situations) were measured before starting the handball course (1) and after completing this course. To analyze the study data, the means, standard deviations, skewness coefficient, and t-test were used for related and independent samples. The study results showed that there is a positive effect of the Handball (1) course content on the coordination abilities values under study. There are also statistically significant differences in the effect of the handball course (1) according to the gender variable and in favor of males in the reaction and adaptation to changing situations ability, while there were no statistically significant differences in the other coordination abilities. Based on the study results, the researcher recommends that the lecturers of the practical courses need to pay attention to the development of the coordination abilities in addition to the physical and skillful abilities
