Abstract

Some students sometimes suffer from difficulty in accurately performing the basic handball skills due to the diversity of its activities and its offensive and defensive skills, which may lead us to the fact that it may be a psychological problem that affects mental abilities and thus affects the performance of skills, and sometimes signs of fatigue appear on it, which leads to loss of focus, poor attention and perception, and lack of Self-confidence and indifference in the performance and accuracy of the skill side. The psychological counseling curricula and program have achieved an impact in raising students’ physical, skill and psychological levels. The research comes in an attempt to reveal the effect of behavioral and cognitive counseling sessions and their role in mental abilities and the development of the accuracy of basic skills among students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The research aims to identify the level of mental abilities. For students of the Faculty of Physical Education and the preparation of a cognitive-behavioral guidance program in mental abilities and the accuracy of my handling and shooting skills with handball for students, as well as identifying the effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral guidance program in mental abilities and the accuracy of my handling and shooting skills with handball for students, and the researchers assume that there is a positive effect of the cognitive-behavioral program on abilities The mentality, accuracy and performance of the skills of handling and shooting from jumping handball for students. The researchers identified the research community and they are students of the second stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Kufa and their number is 68 The research sample was selected and their number is 20 students. A group of 10 students. After the main experiment was applied to them, the results were analyzed and processed using (spss), and the researchers reached the results, among which real differences appeared between the two groups and in favor of the group that used the counseling program in the level of mental abilities and the accuracy of my handling and shooting skills, and that the counseling program is based on the theory of realistic treatment And based on the method of group counseling and through the method of group discussions, it had a clear impact on improving the level of performance of other basic skills
