Abstract

Karate depends greatly on the strength and speed of the legs during performance, as the karate activity requires the player to perform offensive skills during attack and counter-attack, in addition to performing offensive skills by jumping, which requires the availability of the element of strength and speed in the legs, as it is through the law of the sport of karate. Offensive skills that have a strong and rapid performance that affects the opponent are counted, and this cannot happen without the presence of an element of explosive force.

the problem of the research came about through the researcher’s survey of the opinions of some experts, as well as through his observation and analysis of the tests for promotion to black belts. He noticed a deficiency in the skill performance of the players who failed the tests. The researcher attributes this reason to a deficiency in explosive power and strength characterized by speed, so most kicks from the legs depend on force. To count valid kicks. Through the researcher's review of scientific research, he concluded that the plyometric method is considered one of the appropriate methods for developing explosive power and speed.

Research objective: Design a training program using plyometric exercises at the level of some skills for emerging karate players As for the research hypothesis: There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurements of the control group in the level of some skill performances in favor of the post-measurement. The researcher used the experimental method because it suits the nature and procedures of the research.  The most important results were: a high percentage of improvement in the degree of effectiveness of the players’ skill performance as a result of applying the proposed training program and its implementation method and methods.
