Psychological Stability and Its Relationship with Students' Motivation to Learn in the Subject of Wrestling

Abstract

The research aims to identify the degree of psychological stability and motivation of students to learn in wrestling, and to identify the correlation between psychological stability and motivation of students to learn in wrestling.  The researcher adopted the descriptive approach using the survey method and correlational relationships. The research sample was determined by the third-stage students in the College of Physical Education, University of Babylon, numbering (102) students for the academic year (2024-2025). The researcher chose the research sample randomly, which numbered (50) students. He applied the stability scale with its paragraphs amounting to (25) paragraphs, and the learning motivation scale in wrestling with its paragraphs amounting to (36) paragraphs. The alternatives for answering the paragraphs of the two scales are (never, often, sometimes, rarely, always) and the weights for answering those alternatives are (5, 4, 3, 2, 1). Among the conclusions that the research came out with is that students who enjoy high psychological stability tend to think positively, which  It enhances their motivation towards learning, and there is a direct moral correlation between psychological stability and students’ learning motivation in wrestling. Among the recommendations recommended by the researcher is enhancing psychological stability among students as part of educational strategies, and encouraging students to develop psychological stability and determination to achieve their goals.
