Abstract

The importance of the research lies in using the Feuerstein model to determine the extent of its effect on mental alertness and teaching the skill of the smash hit in badminton to students. The problem of the research lies in the presence of weakness in the performance of the skill of the smash hit in badminton for students. This may be due to the learner’s ineffectiveness within the lesson, which may not make The learner’s mind is active and ready to learn the smash hit skill, in addition to not using modern teaching models. The most important objectives of the research were to build a mental alertness scale and identify the effect of the Feuerstein model on mental alertness and teach the smash hit skill in badminton to students. The research population was determined from third-year students from my university. Dhi Qar and Maysan. As for the sample, the application sample was from Dhi Qar University from third-level students. The main experiment sample included (30) students for the control and experimental groups. The most important conclusions were that the Feuerstein model worked to develop the students’ ability to understand, think, and cooperate, develop their abilities, accuracy of observation, and provide real experiences, which It led to an increase in the desire and motivation of learners to learn and their drive towards it.
