Abstract

Obesity is one of the easiest medical conditions to diagnose and the most difficult to treat. It is a chronic disorder and a public health problem. The consequences of obesity are not only medical. There are negative tendencies towards obese people, and these tendencies come from society and even those who provide health care for them. This can be seen in the non-acceptance of obese people to public jobs and not to provide them with accommodation in hotels, and even in not accepting a husband or wife, compared to others, and we find that their income is less than that of others due to their lack of activity and vitality.

The research aimed to:

1- Identification of obesity (pathologically - genetically - chemically).

2-The relationship of obesity with heart diseases - glands - children and women, surgery and drugs).

3-Develop proposed concepts for scientific foundations in exercising to control weight and treat obesity.

The researcher adopted the theoretical descriptive approach to survey everything related to obesity, its prevention and treatment, by developing perceptions of how to change lifestyles and increase sports activities, which is one of the most important means by which energy is spent in the body, because obesity is generated from the very high percentage of food intake in relation to physical exercise that performed by the person.

The researcher recommended the necessity of:

1- Establishing programs for behavioral control of weight that include improving eating habits (quantity of food provided - eating speed - quality of foods).

2- Changing lifestyles, increasing sports activity, and preparing the general atmosphere to accept it and spread its culture among obese people in particular and society in general.

3-Do not use drugs that reduce appetite or gain weight, because they cause unwanted health complications.
